Terms and Conditions
The hostel reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.
Arrivals and departures
Check-in starts at 14:00. We can offer luggage storage if you arrive early and your Pod(/s) aren’t ready. Check-out is by 11:00, please make sure that all of your belongings are out of the room by then. We will be happy to arrange storage for your bags if you wish to continue exploring the area. If you are late to check-out you will be asked to pay for an additional night!
Later check-outs can be requested upon check in but will be subject to availability and are not guaranteed.
We are always happy to have our guests stay with us for longer and you can request to extend your booking with us at any time. Booking extensions must be organised by the check-out time (11:00). Subject to availability we will do all we can to accommodate you for as long as you need.
Late extensions (after 11:00) without previous arrangement are subject to a £5.00 admin fee.
Towels and padlocks
Towels are available for rental use for a £10 fee, upon your check out a £6 refund will be issued.
Padlocks will be available for £10 deposit, upon your check out a full £10 refund will be issued.
Identification
Please be sure that all guests bring a valid form of ID, preferably a government issued passport, ID card or driving licence.
Age Restrictions
We only allow children aged 3+ years old at the hostel and reserve the right to refuse your check-in and charge the full cost of the stay if you are travelling with a child younger than 3 years old.
Bookings will not be accepted by anyone under the age of 18. Any guests under the age of 18 will need to be accompanied by an adult of 18 or older. Those who wish to bring children under 16 years of age will be required to book a whole dorm / private room.
Accessibility and Special Needs
The hostel fully complies with all laws from time to time in force regulating the treatment of, and provision for, disabled guests.
Cwtsh Hostel has one accessible dorm room - our 4 Bed Mixed Dorm has all the features to help guests with additional access requirements.
Guests with any special requirements pertaining to a disability should inform the hostel of the same prior to their arrival.
Parking
We do not offer on-site parking though there are plenty of paid car parks such as NCPS located within walking distance. We are also fortunate enough to be located within a five-minute walk from the city train station and a ten-minute walk from the bus station.

Room Allocations
If travelling as a group, we will do our best to allocate you all to the same room however this cannot be guaranteed. In order to make sure your group isn't separated we recommend reserving a private room or private dorm.
Please take note that all dorms are mixed unless a female-only dorm is booked.
Payment Policy
We accept all forms of card payment through our online booking system.
We take full payment upon booking; refunds may be offered on cancellations subject to the cancellation policy below.
Full payment must be made prior to check-in.
Cash is only accepted for walk-in bookings.
If the card is unable to be charged the booking may be cancelled.
Cancellation Policy
If your booking is cancelled with more than 3 days notice, then you will receive a full refund.
If you cancel your booking within 3 days prior to your check-in time, then you will receive a refund minus the cost of your first night's stay.
If you cancel your booking within 24 hours prior to your check-in time the full amount of the booking will be charged.
In the case of a “no-show” or early leave, the full amount of the booking will still be charged.
Cancellations of stays under the 'non-refundable rate' will still be charged at the full amount.
Guests who leave early are not eligible for a refund. This includes guests who leave early due to dissatisfaction with the behavior of another guest.
Group bookings
Small groups (12 or more people)
A 20% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking.
The remainder is to be paid at least one week (7 days) prior to check-in.
If the booking is cancelled with more than one week's notice, only the deposit will be withheld.
If the booking is cancelled within one week of the check-in date, the full amount will be charged.
Large groups (24 or more people)
A 20% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking.
The remainder is to be paid at least two weeks (14 days) prior to check-in.
If the booking is cancelled with more than two weeks' notice, only the deposit will be withheld.
If the booking is cancelled within two weeks of the check-in date, the full amount will be charged.
Guest behaviour
The safety of our guests and staff is a priority to us at Cwtsh Hostel. Our staff reserve the right to refuse any guests that threaten the comfort, safety or security of our other guests or staff. Guests that are asked to leave under these conditions will not be given a refund.
All guests are expected to respect other guests as well as staff. Guests will be expected to reimburse Cwtsh Hostel for any damages and excessive mess caused by inappropriate behaviour during their stay.
Guests are expected to not bring more than the amount of people agreed upon in their booking into the Pods / Rooms.
Excessive noise throughout the night will not be tolerated, we understand having a good night but leave the loud late-night noises to the clubs!
Quiet times in the dorms are between 22:00 and 07:00. Any conversations and phone calls must be made outside of the dorms during these times.
No Smoking/Vaping
We are a no smoking Hostel any guests found smoking or vaping on the premises will be fined £100 and requested to leave. A refund will not be issued for the stay.
No Drugs
Any guest found using or in possession of drugs will be asked to leave the premises immediately. A refund will not be issued for the stay.
Alcohol
We do allow alcohol on the premises with staff reserving the rights to confiscate alcohol if we are uncertain about the safety of the guest, other guests and staff or are worried about behaviour that could be destructive to the property.
Kitchen
Cwtsh Hostel has a shared kitchen that is available for all of our current guests to use at any time.
Guests are welcome to use any of the cookware and utensils provided with the expectation that you clean up what you use.
We expect guests to respect one another’s property however we accept no responsibility for any food or drink left in the communal kitchen.
Personal Property
Each Pod has a personal designated storage cage for belongings. Locks for these are available to rent if you do not have your own. Guests are responsible to ensure the safety of their belongings at all times. Cwtsh Hostel accepts no liability for the loss, theft or damage to guests’ property, however it may be sustained or caused.
Events
Cwtsh Hostel wants all of our guests to be able to enjoy the local area as much as we do which is why we have set up events and outings that can be found on our events calendar or by asking at reception. Guests are always welcome to ask our staff for recommendations of what to do in the area.
Your Information
Cwtsh Hostel will only store the information you have given regarding your booking as a way to contact you and to inform you of any offers and services that we carry out from time to time. Your personal information will never be disclosed in any other regard to any other third party, this includes but is not limited to your identity or room information, unless to appropriate law enforcement.
Pets
Cwtsh Hostel is pet friendly! Please review the rules below regarding pet stays.
‘Pet Friendly’ bookings must be made directly with Cwtsh Hostel in advance of the stay
There is an additional charge of £5 per pet per night
Pets are welcome where guests have sole exclusive use of a room
Owners are responsible for keeping their pet(s) under control while on the premises
Please ensure other guests are not disturbed by noise or disruptive behaviour
Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pet(s)
Owners are not to leave pet(s) alone for more than 30 minutes
Staff are not expected to look after pets
Owners must not leave Cwtsh Hostel without their pet(s)
We will provide water bowls and towels at reception if available, but be prepared to bring all your pet’s needs (food, food bowl, bed, poop bags etc.)
Pets do not have access to the kitchen/common room
Owners are responsible for any damage caused by pet(s). Fines may be issued for any damages or mess left by pet(s)
